Obituary of Robin Elizabeth Morris
October 7, 1950 - High River, Alberta
January 4, 2025 - Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robin Elizabeth Morris on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 74 years. Robin passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bow View Manor in Calgary, AB.
Robin, the beloved daughter of Fred and Shirley Murray, was born on Saturday, October 7, 1950, in High River, AB. She spent her childhood with her younger brother, Fred (Sandra), across Southern Alberta.
After high school, she attended nursing school before starting a career in the oil and gas industry. She married Leslie James Morris on September 7, 1973, and devoted herself to raising her sons, Scott W. Morris (Oksana) and Ian A. Morris (Stephany), in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Upon her return to Calgary, Robin became an active volunteer with the Woman's Canadian Club, Calgary Golf and Country Club, and the Optimist Club of Calgary.
When she was not planning gardens or flipping houses, Robin took great joy in cooking, collecting recipes, and developing new ones for her friends and family. She took an active role in teaching and playing dominos, firmly believing in the game's ability to keep the mind active and its power to create new friends. She was always happy to be drawn into discussions on home renovations, horses/riding, and current events, and she loved a boisterous, in-depth debate on pretty much any topic.
A proud grandmother to Kaleah A. Harding and Leslie J. P. Morris, who will cherish her memory, Robin was predeceased by her husband Leslie J. Morris, sister Margaret Ann, parents W. Fred L. Murray and Shirley Fay Murray, and father-in-law George R. Morris.
She left behind a legacy of love, resilience, and community spirit. Robin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at the same location, starting at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre.

The Optimist Creed
“Promise Yourself
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.”
