Rick Folk passed away on February 27th. Rick was President of the Downtowners in 2005/06 and was the driving force behind our Essay and Oratorical contests for years. Rick's health hasn't been good for a few years now so we haven't seen him or Rena at many club events. Our condolences to Rena and the family. Service to be held on Monday, information below.

Forever In Our Hearts
Richard “Rick” Folk late of Regina, SK passed away on February 27, 2023 with family by his side following a brief illness. He is predeceased by his father Mike “MC”; mother Mathilda (nee Thauberger); brother Mike; brothers-in-law Leo Tarita, Ron Cadorath and Richard Turchenek and nephew Steven Folk. Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Rena; sons Dale (Colleen) and their children Byron (Randi), Nicholas (Kim), Connor (Alyssa); Brent (Carmen); Craig (Andrea) and their children Maegan (Riley), Lane, Abbey and Kasen; and great grandchildren Bentley, Axl and Nora. Richard was born and raised on a farm outside of Holdfast, SK. His formal education began in a one room school followed by the University of Saskatchewan and Teachers College. Richard taught for 33 years with the Regina Catholic School system, from 1964 - 1997. He was an active member of his community with organizations such as school boards, Knights of Columbus, the Downtowners Optimist Club and community associations. He was an active participant in many sports specifically as an enthusiastic curler, golfer and ball player.

Prayers will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass to Honor and Celebrate Richard’s Life will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK at 11:00 a.m.
