INTERNET SAFETY
Statistics show that 99% of all teens have access to the internet and 94% of students admitted to being cyber bullied and did not tell an adult. The importance of protecting the children in your community is a major undertaking and Optimist Clubs can play a vital role. Clubs must complete the request form to receive an Internet Safety Program packet. One complimentary packet is available to each Club by request. Adult Internet Safety EducationThis program is offered to adult groups of any size in order to educate them about the dangers on the internet that young people can unknowingly fall into. There is information and suggestions on how to keep children safe while navigating the online world and what adults can do to protect young people using the internet.
Faux Paw, the Techno CatOptimist International has partnered with the Internet Keep Safe Coalition to educate children about the potential dangers of the internet and how to protect themselves while online. Materials for this program are available below.
The Faux Paw program is designed for children in first through fourth grades and teaches about the dangers of Internet use through an animated story. This program is also designed to be presented by Optimist Clubs to a group of any size. |
