ROD McKENDRICK

I want to send you greetings from Regina, Saskatchewan. I am
humbled to serve as your Optimist International Vice President for the
2022-23 year. I look forward, as I always have, to working closely with
every one of you.

Our Optimist Clubs have served, do serve and will continue to serve into
the future, and I know every one of you are committed to serving the
children and youth in our communities for many years to come. You
took the opportunity to become an optimist member, and each of us may
have a different reason to be part of this organization, but we all came
together to help our communities. Now more than ever our communities,
our children and youth need us to “Promote Optimism” as a way of life,
to look at the positive things we can do, and not what we can’t do.
I look forward to seeing each of you throughout the year. If we work
together, we can achieve new things. Every child wants and needs
someone to look to for direction. Why not be one of those individuals.
There are many adults who want to help those kids but may not have
the confidence to know where to start. Our Optimist Clubs can be that
starting place. Invite them.

To all the members of the Great Plains Region, I wish you well in your
endeavors. Remember the promise we make – “To think only of the
best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best”. Let’s keep
that promise for the children.
