On behalf of the AMS&NW district, I would like to wish a Happy Mothers' Day to all the Wonderful mothers in our district. Your role as mother, to not only to your own biological children, but to all the children that you serve through the various optimist programs and projects cannot be under-stated. Your dedication, love and work to enhance the lives of all our children are deeply appreciated. They (the children) need you now more than ever. Our district is truly indebted to you for your loyalty and commitment to the objectives and values of our Optimist Movement. There is no role in life that is more essential than that of motherhood. The influence of a mother in the lives of children is beyond calculation. To the world, you are a mother, but to our Optimist family, you are the world. Continue nurturing the lives of our future leaders and providing the fuel that enables a normal person to do the impossible.

Our Optimist Creed reminds us to press on to the greater achievements of the future; only mothers can think of the future, because you give birth to it in your children. A mother understands what a child does not say.
