GOVERNOR’S CHRISTMAS GREETINGS – 2024

Christmas is one of the most joyous times of the year, and the AMS&NW
Optimists continue to make it special for all the people that we serve. As your
Governor, it gives me great pleasure to wish for you and your families, a Very
Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2025. These few words
are to let you know that your hard work and active participation contribute to the
success of our district. As amazing optimists and volunteers, I want you to know
that your value is inestimable, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our
team this year. Continue to let your Optimist light shine, as you are making a
positive difference in the lives of those that you touch. I encourage you to continue
to be ‘The Man in the Arena,’ and not just a critic on the sidelines. There is no
effort without error and shortcomings, so be encouraged to continuously improve
and to strive for excellence and experience the triumph of high achievement.
Excellence drives success. Nothing liberates our greatness like the desire to help,
the desire to serve, and your selfless actions is the source of strength for the
district. You give selflessly of your time, talents and treasures to make this world a
better place, and to enhance the development of youth. You are great role models
for others to follow, so the call to action is that you exercise your duty and
persuasion power as Optimists and uphold high moral standards. To you, much has
been given, and much is expected in return, so remember your position of
privilege, and let nothing disturb your peace of mind as you bring out the Best in
youth, our communities, and indeed, bring out the Best in yourselves.

I wish for you my Optimist friends that you have a joyous Christmas season filled
with lots of love, fun, great fellowship and wonderful memories, and of course
good food.
Have a fabulous holiday, and I look forward to continue serving with you as
Optimists, as we press on to the greater achievements of the future.

Blessings,
Governor Dwight
December 2024
