GOVERNOR ED’S “AUGUST” MESSAGE
Well, the AMS&NW 2023 Convention is now behind us.
There were 112 Registered and 121 attended the Saturday night Banquet. I personally thank all who attended. My goal for the Convention from the start of my year was to have it be a “celebration”. NOT, in terms of awards, but in terms of all of
AMS&NW members to have pride in what we accomplished for the youth as well as for our respective communities. My goal
also included to making sure the content was informative, yet enjoyable.
We were honored at the Convention to have International President Bob McFadyen and his wife Penny participate and attend the entire meeting, as well as having International President-Elect Tracy Huxley “zoom-in” on Saturday.
We done good! The AMS&NW District is currently #4 in the Nation out of 50 Districts, with a +65 Membership gain. As for the informative/enjoyable aspect, from the Feedback sheets I received, mission accomplished, in large part due to all 6 clubs in
Billings, ALL having a role in the Convention under the direction of District Convention Chair Nikki McFerran.
BUT, the year is NOT OVER. Membership, Membership, Membership & Membership is the focus of the remaining 6 weeks.
As your Governor, recognizing the importance of growing the District, I publicly committed to President Bob to finish the year
with 100+ Membership Gain. We can and will reach that number, but it takes everyone to “JUST INVITE” or “JUST ASK” as many people/friends that we come in contact with.
REMEMBER THIS: Statistically, every member helps 35 youth in their community! Secondly, every new member
adds to attendance at Club Meetings, may help in the future at the District level, but most importantly, a new member
brings new ideas, new passions, new talents, additional man-power for conducting programs, and most importantly,
brings a new circle of friends to expand our presence in our community and continue the legacy of your Club.
Respectfully Governor Ed
