OPTIMIST CLUBS ARE ...
Every Optimist Club is formed by people who wanted to reach out to help youth and community. People like you and me. Members of an Optimist Club usually live or work in the community. Members have joined together to serve others and promote an Optimist way of life.

Each club is chartered as a club of  Optimist International.

EACH CLUB OPERATES INDEPENDENTLY

This means they operate independently of each other. They choose their own activities, elect their own officers, and raise their own funds. A Club's services activities are based on the needs of the community. What a Club can do is limited only by imagination and resources of the Members.

OPTIMIST ZONES ARE......

Zones are a collection of clubs within the same geographic region, usually within a couple hours drive of each other.
In AMS&NW there are 8 zones.
Zones are serviced by a Lieutenant Governor, selected by the members of the clubs within their Zone. The Lieutenant Governor represents the District Governor and Optimist International President, providing assistance and advice to club presidents. The role of the Lieutenant Governor is to ensure that clubs have the resources they need to remain a vibrant service club in their community.

OPTIMIST DISTRICTS ARE.....

A district is a collection of clubs within a geographical region.  Within AMS&NW there are 8 zones which make up the District.

AMS&NW serves communities and members in Alberta, Montana, Saskatchewan and Northern Wyoming.

The Governor oversees the activities of the District and is always available as a resource to the members and clubs.

As of October 1, 2024 there are 8 zones within the AMS&NW District.
There are 43 clubs in the 8 zones.
