2023-2024 DISTRICT SECRETARY / TREASURER
Jacquie KittsonAs a Montana native I grew up enjoying the beautiful country we live in, living by the values my parents instilled in me. I’m definitely a people person with my passion lying in the fine arts. With a degree in fine arts I try to share my love of it with children in my community and give them the opportunity to know how creating something can make you feel. I’m a long standing member of the Stillwater Society and Billings Arts Association two local artists groups. I receive great joy in my involvement as a board member and hands on experiences with a non-profit Angel Horses, Inc. We provide physical and emotional support to at risk youth, seniors and cancer patients using rescued horses and donkeys at no cost to the clients.
As a chartered member of the Heights Optimist Club I’ve been enjoying our Mission and the works of our club since 2002. I’ve held offices of president and secretary with my work background of payroll clerk and bookkeeping. I’ve learned through life’s experiences that it can be too short so don’t put off loving your family and sharing your talents with your community. What does the District Secretary/Treasurer do?The primary role as the District Secretary-Treasurer is to provide administrative and financial management support to Governor Edie and the rest of the District Team and Lieutenant Governors throughout the Optimist year. I encourage all clubs to file their reports in a timely manner and ensure that OI and District dues are paid in a timely manner.
We have some excellent resources for Club Presidents and Secretary-Treasurers in the "For our Members" section of this website, where you will find forms, information sheets, and other important information. I encourage you to attend the quarterly District Conferences to attend Secretary-Treasurer training. If you cannot attend these meetings/conferences, you can self-study the same material: |
