2025 - 2026 DISTRICT CONVENTION AMBASSADOR

Dwight B. Phillips
Dwight was born, raised and educated in Jamaica.  His mother ensured that his education included involvement /participation in his church where he served in many capacities.

Dwight became very involved in Optimism while living in Jamaica.  After seeing the Optimist Creed hanging in his friends office, he realized that the words of the creed described how he already lived his life and he joined the Optimist movement, serving in many positions from club, district and to International level.

Dwight married the love of his life and together they have 1 grown daughter who is a doctor in Clear Water, BC.

In 2014, Dwight and his wife moved to Canada to the Calgary region.  He decided to not get involved in the Optimist clubs during this transition period, but after 3 years when they moved to Edmonton he realized he wanted to get involved and make a difference in the life of children, himself and his community.  After  a few meetings, Dwight became a member of the Edmonton Dinner Optimist Club and has worked hard as a member and executive of this club.  He is a very proactive member who is willing to work hard for the betterment of club and members.

Dwight is serving as the  GOVERNOR ELECT and is looking forward to helping all members during this year.

Dwight brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to District 13, so stop and have a chat with him at the next District meeting.
